The test can be completed within seconds of connecting to the vehicle OBD2 port or battery data port. Connection time varies by vehicle make and model; however, the process is relatively quick and simple.
It is important to note that the Smartville Periscope™ test directly interprets the OEM Battery Management System (BMS) data. The BMS report, especially health estimation has varying degrees of accuracy depending on automaker and vehicle condition. The Periscope provides data transparency and high-level screening for battery stakeholders. However, it is not a definitive assessment of battery health nor predict battery remaining life. Periscope provides an initial assessment suitable for quick decisions in the field.
